------------------------------------------
The safety of the children and workers in our ministry is a high priority. It is important that Child Evangelism Fellowship take steps to protect the children to whom we minister and protect our workers from false accusations.

In accordance with the Child Protection Policy of Child Evangelism Fellowship Inc., all volunteers and paid staff are required to undergo a national criminal background check, social security trace, and address trace. The background screening form will ask a series of questions that include your personal information, a brief testimony, and references.

Additionally, each school district has additional requirements for their school and/or county. Please complete the instructions for screening for the county the school you will be serving in is located.
Counties covered under CEF East Central Florida are listed below.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

IS THE SCREENING FORM SECURE?
Absolutely. We partner with Protect My Ministry, a volunteer screening service, that partners with churches and organizations throughout the USA. Child Evangelism Fellowship has a national partnership with PMM and is the primary source for all ministry background checks. Their site uses a TLS1.2 256-bit encryption process that prevents your personal information from ending up in the wrong hands.

WHY DO YOU NEED MY SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER?
Our Child Protection Policy requires that at minimum we conduct a National Criminal Database search, National Sex Offender Registry search, Statewide check for Addresses (within last 5 years), and a SSN Address History trace. Don't worry, our staff cannot see your SSN and it is not viewable on any digital documents when reviewing your results. Because this is a requirement, failure to offer SSN will prevent you from being able to complete the form which disqualifies you from being able to volunteer.

WHAT IF SOMETHING APPEARS ON MY RECORD?
This doesn't automatically disqualify you from serving. We will review all results on a case by case basis with you. In some cases, exemptions can be granted. Any sex crimes or crimes against children will not be granted exemption.
